Site History

Our web site began in November of 1995 with a single page hosted on a member's ISP account. After only a few months it became apparent that there is a tremendous opportunity on the Internet for ministry, both for reaching the lost and encouraging our brothers and sisters in the Lord. So, on April 25, 1996, this site was born.

Up until then designed and administrated by one of our members, the task of updating and expanding it quickly became too much for one person. Other church members joined the development, and the Internet Committee at Bible Baptist Church was born in September, 1998 as the church voted to make it an "official" ministry of our church.

That same month, a semi-monthly online devotional, Meditation Moment, was launched via the web site and an e-mail list. Redesigned in 2000, Meditation Moment continues to be one of the most visited sections of our web site.

On October 6, 1998 the domain name bbc-cortland.org was registered and significant additions were made to the site. The third and current major revision of this web site was launched in early 2003 to improve the appearance and modularity of the site, and to "reduce clutter."

The Bible Baptist Church web team also maintains a web site and several mailing lists on behalf of the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches.
